This photo and the next photo, "Sound" both reminded me why I love photography so much. These two photos were taken at the end of an 18 day road trip that began in Dallas, Texas. (Read more about that trip here). Without getting into too much detail, the last few days of the trip were especially tough. I had some external problems weighing on my mind, was beginning to feel very mentally run down and exhausted, and a heavy level of self-doubt had seeped into my mind.
Then the sky literally opened up and I had the opportunity to capture these two images, and they literally re-energized me on the spot. They are so dramatic and stunning, that I actually feel lucky to have had the chance to capture them.

Metroscap is a collection of black & white cityscape prints of Seattle by photographer Jason Wilson. In 2004 when the Metroscap Collection (of black and white cityscapes and black and white cityscape prints) was launced we tried very, very hard to register the domain name metroscape.com. However, it turned out that it was already (and still is) squatted by someone else in South Korea. So instead of be discouraged about not being able to acquire the metroscape.com domain we instead used that roadblock as an opportunity be creative with the name and pronounciation that we desired with the term Metroscape. So after some quality time with Adobe Illustrator and a bunch of pencil sketches we arrived at our current spelling, Metroscap (with the long vowel sound pronounciation bar above the "a").
