Even long time Columbus residents have to do a double take when they see this photo. At first most people just think its a shot of New York City. But when its revealed to them that its Front Street (from the Nationwide Parking Garage at Front and Nationwide) they'll then begin to examine the photo for things they recognize.
The best story about this photo come from about a month after I started selling photos in the North Market. I was actually at the Winterfair show at the Fairgrounds while my dad had a table set up at the North Market (across from Jeni's Ice Cream). He had a lady with this photo in her arms, ready to purchase it, but wanted to know where at in New York it was taken. When he told her it was taken maybe 600 yards from where she was standing (and not in New York) she was no longer interested in purchasing the print. I took it as a compliment.

Metroscap is a collection of black & white cityscape prints of Columbus by photographer Jason Wilson. In 2004 when the Metroscap Collection (of black and white cityscapes and black and white cityscape prints) was launced we tried very, very hard to register the domain name metroscape.com. However, it turned out that it was already (and still is) squatted by someone else in South Korea. So instead of be discouraged about not being able to acquire the metroscape.com domain we instead used that roadblock as an opportunity be creative with the name and pronounciation that we desired with the term Metroscape. So after some quality time with Adobe Illustrator and a bunch of pencil sketches we arrived at our current spelling, Metroscap (with the long vowel sound pronounciation bar above the "a").
