Anyone whose lived in Columbus for about 10 years or more (from the time of this writing) should understand why I titled this photo "Finally". For those new to the city or just unaware, the city of Columbus had a major problem getting these thing to light up correctly. Apparently some outfit out of Las Vegas (i think) didn't factor in our winters when they wired up the lights and didn't insulate the fiber optic cable correctly, or didn't bury the electric lines deep enough under our freeze zone, so the first time it got super cold the lights stopped working. It turned out to be a big legal fight on who was to blame, I don't remember who ultimately was blamed, and frankly I don't care. It just gives me pleasure to poke fun at the whole thing with the title of the photo.

Metroscap is a collection of black & white cityscape prints of Columbus by photographer Jason Wilson. In 2004 when the Metroscap Collection (of black and white cityscapes and black and white cityscape prints) was launced we tried very, very hard to register the domain name metroscape.com. However, it turned out that it was already (and still is) squatted by someone else in South Korea. So instead of be discouraged about not being able to acquire the metroscape.com domain we instead used that roadblock as an opportunity be creative with the name and pronounciation that we desired with the term Metroscape. So after some quality time with Adobe Illustrator and a bunch of pencil sketches we arrived at our current spelling, Metroscap (with the long vowel sound pronounciation bar above the "a").
